Darwin Jesus Fish...?

Ok, I'm at a loss. I saw on the back of a mini-van today a Jesus fish, with a couple feet and the name DARWIN within it...

My first reaction was that this guy was obviously in agreement with the theory of evolution.

I have called this principle, by which
each slight variation, if useful, is preserved,
by the term Natural Selection.
—Charles Darwin from "The Origin of Species"

Pretty cool guy that Darwin. Makes sense to me. But why the Jesus fish? Not that I'm an Avid User, if you will. But I do respect the fish in some sense, as you would know if you read my last entry. Did the purchase of that bumper sticker insinuate that there is something wrong with the fish? On the flipside is it a well thought statement that Jesus is a part of all that, as are you and I then.

I would like to think that our world history, Jesus included with others like Newton, Da Vinci, Einstien....and (oh please forgive me) Hitler. They are a part of our history, and what has brought us here today. Like a person who bumps their leg as a child and recieves a scar that lasts a good part of their life, but of course fades with time and is eventually forgotten. Just because the scar is no longer visable does not mean that the event of the fall for that person never happened.

I'm not asking for anyone to believe that Jesus lived. What you believe is irrelevant, what you know is all that matters. If you are against something you cannot be for it. If one were to deny that Jesus lived and that his life on this earth did not change it, then they would be against the opportunity of knowing about a man who feared nothing, achieved everything, and loved with more passion than we can possibly dream of....or can we???

Ok, think about this. We are all connected. We are all somehow connected through something. We are separate from nothing, by means of the connectedness shared between all things between what is furthest from you and YOU. Whatever YOU really are right?...because you are everything aren't you? But don't confuse this with your body.

Close your eyes. Just the act of this is certainly something you can find enjoyment in because it seems like a realm that you have complete control over. Does it look like the back of your eye lids? Or perhaps a dark room? Maybe a Spere? ...of darkness? Or light? I've heard people say they see colours, random flashes. Does this place feel good to you? Can you call it a place?

Ever noticed the commonality to almost all religions that closing the eyes is the first step to any type of worship? Even tribal dances of the oldest traditions to cults based on the newest information. When we get down to doing what we think we are here to do, we close our eyes and do what? We enjoy that space and do whatever we want in there.

I wish I was there to coach you right now but you can coach yourself. Observe your surroundings. Now close your eyes. See what you see there. Dark or light, whatever you see. Conciously observe that space. Now when you open your eyes try to see that space and that you just placed everything you observed before within that space you had when you shut your eyes.

If you tried that I'm proud of you. If you didn't get any realisation I'm still proud of you. Its not important. What is important is that you realise that you are made of the same stuff as everything else, what you see is what you get. You are but a body experiencing it from that body's angle. Enjoy it. Jesus did.

"Love your neighbor as thyself". This is perhaps the most fundamental advice, in my opinion that Jesus gave to us. When asked about the Comandments, he replied with an additonal one, and it has been paraphrased many times. Do Unto Others as you would have them do unto to you. Tha Golden Rule!

So what I'm saying is dang-it be nice and lets get along cause we only hurt ourselves in the long run. Lets replace that scar scenario with flowers. When in the winter the tulips are gone, they still existed last spring and will exist next spring. Lets all be scars, flowers and even stars and leave a mark as humans in this world that is basically at our beck and call. Like a few guys I've read about.

For those people who have more than enough safety, happiness, money, and love....lets share a bit with the less fortunate, trust me you will benefit in the long run. You know this.

Peace
M@
